Activity 1: Using the required Excel worksheet, complete the following data cleaning activities. • Remove all non-number characters (including spaces) from cells in the following rows: o SBP o RESP o PULSE o GCS o Motor o ISS • Identify how many missing values there are for each variable – give the raw number and % of total • Post links to any Excel tutorial you found helpful for this activity Activity 2: Create a new variable to help identify patients classified as being in hypovolemic shock. • Use the SBP variable values to create the shock variable (create a new column in the existing sheet). • Code SBP < 90 mm Hg as being 0. • Code SBP > 90 mm Hg as being 1. • Identify how many patients were classified as being in shock – raw number and % of total • Post links to any Excel tutorial you found helpful for this activity Activity 3: Recode the mode of transport to be either HEMS or GEMS regardless of transport origin. • Create a new column in the Excel sheet • AS and AT are GEMS transports (ambulance) • HS and HT are HEMS transports (helicopter) • Identify how many patients were HEMS – raw number and % of total • By year, identify how many patients were HEMS – raw number and % per year • Post links to any Excel tutorial you found helpful for this activity Activity 4: Compare your raw numbers and % for activities 1-3 with at least 2 other students. • Do the numbers match? • If not, see if you can identify the reason and help resolve the issue. • Post your responses by midnight on Sunday.
